Rising Stars is an intensive workshop for women graduate students and postdocs who are interested in pursuing academic and research careers. Originally launched at MIT in 2012, Rising Stars events have been hosted in many different fields at institutions across the world. UT Austin's Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences and Sandia National Laboratories are proud to partner to host the first Rising Stars event in Computational and Data Sciences.

The 2020 event will kick off virtually on October 13, 2020. A follow-up in-person event is planned for spring 2021, to be held at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin. The event will bring together approximately 25 top women in Computational and Data Sciences for research presentations, poster sessions, and interactive discussions about academic and research careers. Travel expenses will be covered for those selected to attend.
